When I click on the diagram for the cone exercise it is all blurry?

Patty O'Bleness

Here’s our circling the cone.

Circling a Cone Redo. In my attempt to reward on the line in the first video, it looks like I was luring but I don’t feel that I was. I gave her a little more distance and she offers it just fine. @peeld

Patty O'Bleness

@peeld Daisy, I’m never one to turn down a challenge and the next video I post here you will have no question that she turns away without a treat! Ha ha! Now to prove it!

I am working hard to catch up so hope I did this right. She offers nicely on both directions. I do see, however, that I click at the same moment I give the treat and I KNOW the click should come first not simultaneously. Such a good dog!

We had previously shaped just a 180 around the core with no body language, then just on a verbal. He recently learned full wrapping but only with a signal. So we decided to try shaping a full cone wrap with no cues,….success!!

I am posting this out of order because I’m about to go out of town for a week and a half or so, and I thought I might put up videos on different skills so that I could get feedback when I am back in town. We haven’t done any circling work since March or so. I’m using this monolith because I trained a leg lift on a cone (oops) and if I put an orange cone out there, I get lots of raised paw touching. She seems to have a left turn (“flip”) pretty much on verbal command, but… Read more Β»

We started working on this after your seminar at The Farm, it was a fun shaping exercise, I didn’t lure them at all. I haven’t yet introduced the left and right cue. Do you think they are ready for that?

Shelby

I am sheepishly here to attempt to get back on the horse (I was gone for a week then had a really nasty [law] trial that consumed my life). Please let me know if class has closed. Thanks!

Shelby

@Daisy Peel aaaargh. Just came on here to keep working on this class by myself and saw you’d commented- I never got a notification and assumed I was too late! When is class over? Please tag me next time; maybe then I’ll get a notification

Shelby

@Daisy Peel sweet I thought it was 6 weeks! Back on the horse I go!

Shelby

@Daisy Peel ok I know you’re off to EO tryouts, but here’s a new video of circling.

Shelby

@Daisy Peel just want to make sure you see our cone circling. Skip that last video and watch this one- we’ve been practicing.

Hi Daisy – I am currently taking the L & R course by Anna. I checked with her and she said it was okay by you to use the verbals.

Sandy Mullis

@Daisy Peel ( is this your name for tagging?) Hi Daisy Because of Kit’s injury early in the course we are far behind. If you remember I did mention that to you back in Sept. I submitted this video more than 2 weeks ago. Just wondering if because I am so far behind everyone else the videos are being overlooked? I have gone on and am working on the next unit, because at this rate it will be a very long time before I finish the course and I am concerned that my access to the course will expire before… Read more Β»
