When you’re training your dog with a new verbal and he offers a whole other behavior and then it dawns on you that someone taught him a cue in his previous life that sounds too close to the cue you just were training. Back to the drawing board! Haha I just found out that someone trained Vision to lie down with the cue “lie” in his previous life, as I was training his landing side tunnel approach as “mine.” I kept wondering why he kept going into a down position! The things you learn that make you laugh!
Oops!!! Luckily, changing verbals for a trained behavior is a LOT easier than changing the actual behavior itself!!! 🙂 My cue for left is ‘lee’ and it sounds a log like ‘weave’ 🙂
Love this class. Your explanations are thorough and the demonstrations are easy to understand.
@DianeKrumme I’m really glad to hear that! I’m always open to suggestions for improvement. If you don’t mind, take a moment to leave a review for the course so others know what you’ve discovered! https://classroom.daisypeel.com/course/all-about-landing-side-approaches/
