This 6-week course will teach you and your dog how to use a DogTread Treadmill for maximum benefits – how to introduce your dog to the treadmill, understanding gait patterns, lateral movement of the hips and shoulders, independent forelimb and hindlimb forward movement and progressive weight distribution.
Learning how your dog moves – what is good movement and what might not be good is a talent of training your eye. During this class we will analyze how your dog is moving and discuss your dogs strengths and weaknesses.
This class will also use various FitPAWS equipment such as balance discs, rocker board, peanuts and K9FITbone (substations will be made).
Performing strength exercises on the treadmill is a super fun activity for you and your dog. This will be a fantastic way to keep your dog mentally and physically active.
Professionals in the fields of veterinary rehab, orthopedics, and physical therapy who have reviewed my program agree that the exercises in my courses are a great part of a comprehensive canine conditioning program!
Please remember that before starting any exercise program for your dog, he should be seen by a veterinarian to insure the dog has no physical limitations. If your dog has been injured, consult with a physical therapist or rehabilitation expert prior to starting any exercise routine.
You’ll be asked to film yourself doing conditioning exercises with your dog, and submit your videos (uploaded to YouTube, Vimeo, or another video service) to the discussion forum, where you’ll receive feedback.
Spectators will be able to join in the discussion and learn from Bobbie's feedback, as well as view the assignments of the participants!
Once you’ve registered for this class, links to weekly assignments will show up in the MY CONTENT portion of the site.
